KUJATAMA Zeo crops |
These experiment demonstrated the application of zeolites in single and combination with compost and calcite as soil amendment. The results showed that application of zeolites in single application increased the cation-exchange capacity (CEC) and exchangeable bases of soils when they applied to low CEC soils. Zeolites also enhanced the available P2O5 in the soil and the increase was higher when zeolites were combined with chicken-manure compost. (Suwardi and Itsuo Goto,2000)
The use of KUJATAMA Zeo in soil increases root and shoot growth by holding nitrogen in the root zone and gradually releasing it to the plant for better utilization. This ability to hold nitrogen also reduces the amount of fertilizer needed to maintain healthy soil.
KUJATAMA Zeo supplies potassium, supports micro-organisms beneficial to plants, and maintains moisture during dry periods to sustain growth.
However, KUJATAMA Zeo has numerous advantages in the area of water conservation and nutrient leaching.
- It's capable of holding up to 60% of its weight in water
- It's can increase water infiltration by 7%-30% on gentle sloped land and up to 50% on steep sloped land
- Soil moisture can be increased by 0.4%-1.8% in drought conditions and 5%-15% in general water situations
- Consequently, overland surface runoff is reduced, in turn protecting lands from erosion
- Use of soluble N fertilizers is a major cause for groundwater contamination. Zeolite reduces nitrate leaching by inhibiting the nitrification of ammonium to nitrate
